Overview
The privacy of users visiting the Network Rail eLearning site is of great importance. Users of the Network Rail eLearning site have the right to know what type of information is being collected about them on this site and the purpose for which the information is being collected.
Personal data we may collect about you
Personal data about you is collected (such as your name or contact details) whenever you complete an online form.
For example, we will obtain your personal data when you register to use the Network Rail eLearning site, complete your personal profile, send us feedback, post material, contact us for any reason and/or sign up to a course. We may also obtain sensitive personal data about you if you volunteer it during the completion of an online form. If you volunteer such information, you will be consenting to our processing.
We may monitor your usage of the Network Rail eLearning site. This may include monitoring how many times you visit, which pages you go to, traffic data, location data and the originating domain name of a user's internet service provider. This information helps us to build a profile of our users. Some of this data will be aggregated or statistical, which means that we will not be able to identify you individually.
What do we do with your data?
Under no circumstances will the Network Rail eLearning Team give the information you provide on the Network Rail eLearning site to any 3rd parties. We use the data we collect from you to communicate with you and keep you up to date with the latest news. The Network Rail eLearning site Team cannot be held accountable for the data you provide to individual Training Centres whilst undertaking learning activities at that centre.
Security of data
We take security very seriously. All Network Rail eLearning site Team staff are made aware of the security procedures they must follow when handling personal information. We also protect data transferred. We have strong security measures in place to prevent your personal information from being misused in any way. In addition, we limit access to your personal information to those employees who have a business need to access this only and who are subject to a duty of confidentiality.
We have procedures in place to deal with any suspected personal data breach and will notify you where we are legally required to do so.
How long we will keep your personal information for?
We will keep your information for as long as you are an employee of Network Rail and required to use the Network Rail eLearning site. We will delete your information in line with Network Rails Corporate Records Retention Schedule.
